Written by Paul Chappell, Sports EditorFox Sports will be presenting a special podcast on Monday, April 15, with the host of the podcast, former AFLW champion and former AFL chief executive Paul Chapel, as part of the broadcast.
The podcast will be hosted by former AFLCFL CEO David Evans and will be a one-hour programme.
It will also feature the views of some of the players and coaches who have played an important role in the AFL’s evolution and growth over the past five decades.
“The AFL has grown beyond its origins in rugby league, and into a brand that transcends sports and the social fabric of Australia,” Chappel said.
“It is no coincidence that this has occurred as the game has evolved to its current form and the league has moved from being a single, unified entity to a multitude of independent entities.”
In the modern game, the league is the nexus between the sporting and the political, the corporate and the community.
It is the hub of a large, complex and diverse sporting community.
“It will be the first time in the history of the game that a single entity will own the league.
Chappel, who will also be the host on the podcast alongside AFLW chief executive David Evans, said he was delighted that the merger had been achieved.”
We are the league that has been given the opportunity to do that.””
I am proud to see our game evolve to the point where it can be a global brand with fans from all over the world.”
We are the league that has been given the opportunity to do that.
“The AFL will retain the AFL logo on its home and away jerseys and will use the AFLCWA logo in branding, merchandising and branding in the game.
